Free Stair Climbing for Fat Loss Report
Stair climbing is great exercise as we mentioned before - although, as you probably know, it’s not for the feint of heart.
Personal fitness expert Virgil Aponte is a long time advocate of this method of training and is the author of a the Ultimate Stair Exercises program - a whole program based on this method of training and well worth a look.
Virgil kindly wrote to me this weekend to offer my readers a free copy of his report “Stair Climbing for Fat Loss” - you can download the Stair Climbing for fat loss report here.

what are the longterm effect on knees for a 58 year old normal male stair climber who climbs 30 flights a day
Hi Saroj,
Well, I guess no one can say what the effects will be on any one individual because it will depend on your strengths and vulnerablities.
But I prefer to see a variety of training using many different methods spread over the course of a week than doing one exercise day in day out.
You can see from the sports stars who have to practice particular movements over and over that they are prone to injury and overtraining.
It may be worth asking Virgil about his experience here - I will send him a note of your question.
In my experience stairs will actually strengthen your knees. Now if you over do it that is where problems can arise. But that applies to any form of exercise. 30 flights a day is usually equivalent to 5-6 minutes unless you run or use 2 steps at a time. I would not worry about over training in your case even if it’s everyday. Just remember to listen to your body and get rest when necessary
